All eyes were on Meghan Markle on Christmas Day, as she accompanied her new fiancé Prince Harry and future in-laws the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge as they walked to St Mary Magdalene Church in Sandringham for the festive service. It was the first time the young royals had ever appeared in public together. There is one item that stood out beyond measure – Meghan Markle’s stunning hat. The chestnut design was made by renowned milliner Philip Treacy, who produces many of the royal’s elaborate hats. His stunning creations feature feathers, ribbons, sequins and 3D effects, and you can instantly tell a Philip Treacy design as soon as you see it. It’s not just Meghan Markle who is a fan – the esteemed milliner makes headgear for popstars, actresses and the Hollywood elite. The Duchess of Cambridge wore one of Philip’s more subtle creations to the Queen’s 90th birthday celebrations in 2016. She stood on the balcony of Buckingham Palace with her daughter Princess Charlotte, and her pretty blush-pink hat coordinated with her dress. It featured a rose applique flower that gave the look that extra ‘wow’ factor.The late Tara Palmer-Tomkinson looked bonny in blue as she happily attended the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Duchess Kate at Westminster Abbey on 29 April, 2011. Carrie Bradshaw would be impressed….Victoria Beckham attended the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding in 2011, and wore a navy blue dress from her own range, Christian Louboutin high-heel shoes and of course, a navy hat by Philip Treacy. The design was small in size, and featured a dazzling embellished brooch.Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall chose an unforgettable design by Philip Treacy to wear to her wedding to Prince Charles in 2005. The beautiful hat featured a mass of gold feathers that framed her head and complimented her stunning dress and coat. She wore her hair in loose curls and accessoried with delicate drop earrings.Philip Treacy presented a selection of his hats in New York City in 2003, in high end designer store Bergdorf Goodman. Supermodel Iman wore a vibrant creation in the showcase, which looked incredible against her skin tone.
